  • 1) The image below shows a liger, which is a cross between a female lion and a male tiger. The liger will have inherited characteristics from both parents. As the liger is a hybrid animal, it is unlikely that it will be able to have offspring via sexual reproduction. Suggest why 1 Marks

  • 2) In the past, lions and tigers would have appeared to look very similar. However, over time, they have become more and more different. For example, tigers now have striped fur, whereas lions have solid coloured fur. Explain why the characteristics of species change over time 4 Marks
